At first, I hesitated to book because the reviews were not so good,.... but I chose it because it was much cheaper than other booking sites. However, the guide speaks English that is easy for non-native speakers to understand. The number of people on the tour was about 15, so it was a reasonable and good value tour.

Options

During the booking process, you'll be able to choose between the two options listed below. Both begin at the port of Puerto Ayora and include an English–speaking guide.

Isabela Island Tour

After meeting at the indicated time at the meeting point, we'll set sail on our speedboat. Hold on tight!

After a two-hour cruise, we'll arrive on Isabela Island, the largest of the Galapagos archipelago and one of the most volcanically active places in the world. Its distinctive volcanic landscapes will leave you speechless: striking dark-coloured rocks contrasting against the crystalline turquoise waters lapping its beaches.

First, we'll visit Puerto Villamil, a picturesque town known as a breeding ground for turtles. You'll have the opportunity to see up to five different species of giant land tortoises, as well as flamingos and marine iguanas up close.

After meeting the turtles, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. With our batteries recharged, we'll head to Concha Perla, a small beach surrounded by mangroves, where sea lions and turtles freely dwim in the turquoise waters.

Finally, we'll return to the speedboat to take you back to Santa Cruz after 11 hours of adventure!

Isabela Island Tour + Tintoreras Excursion

After meeting at the dock in Puerto Ayora, we'll board our speedboat for a tour of Tintoreras Bay - an area highly frequented by white-tip sharks, Galapagos penguins and blue-footed boobies!

At the bay, we'll snorkel in the calm waters so that we can colourful reef fish up close. We'll also visit the islet of Tintoreras to observe the sea birds - this is nature at it's best!

We'll then head to Isabela Pier to grab some food at a local restaurant. Once we've refuelled, we'll explore more of the island, enjoying the volcanic landscapes and fascinating ecosystem of Puerto Villamil, with its tortoises, flamingos, pelicans and peculiar Galapagos penguins.

Finally, we'll return to Santa Cruz after 11 hours.

Important information

Please note that on the day of the tour, there will be an added fee of US$ 10 for non-nationals (US$ 5 for locals) for the use of the port in Isabela. Please bring this amount in cash.
