Galapagos Islands 5-day Luxury Cruise

Day 1: Baltra Island - Santa Cruz Island

We'll be waiting for you at 9 am at the Baltra airport to go by bus to the port of Santa Cruz Island, where we'll board the cruise ship on which we'll spend the next few days. Our adventure through the Galapagos National Park begins!

The first day will be spent exploring the El Chato Reserve, located in the highlands of Santa Cruz Island. Here, we'll be able to see the famous giant tortoises of the Galapagos in their natural habitat. Did you know that they can live more than 300 years and that they weigh around 881 lbs (400 kg)?

To finish the day, we'll return to the ship for dinner and rest until the next day.

Day 2: Santa Cruz Island - Santiago Island - San Bartolomé Island

After enjoying breakfast on the boat, we'll leave Santa Cruz for Santiago Island, also known as James Island. We'll explore Sullivan Bay, aweing at the solidified lava flows that extend along its shores. From here, we'll see the island's volcanic cones and learn about the eruptions that have taken place over the past two centuries.

Following lunch, we'll approach Bartolome Island. Despite its scarcity of vegetation, this area is striking for its beaches, lunar craters, and a curious rocky pinnacle that has become a symbol of the national park. In this area, we'll also see a small colony of Galapagos penguins!

We'll then return to the ship to recharge our batteries with a delicious dinner on board.

Day 3: North Seymour Island - South Plaza Island

On this day, we'll visit North Seymour Island, which is very close to Baltra. The origin of this island is very different from the rest of the Galapagos, which is why there are no mountains nor volcanic cones on these lands.

We'll stroll through North Seymour observing the many birds that nest in this area. We might spot frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, and swallow-tailed gulls!

After our walk, we'll return to the ship for lunch and, in the afternoon, we'll visit the South Plaza islet, located east of Santa Cruz. The cacti and the reddish colors of the rocks here give it an almost Jurassic character. We'll see the iguanas that live here and you'll have time to take a dip by a reef populated by manta rays, turtles, and sea lions.

Back on the boat, we'll have dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 4: San Cristobal Island

On day 4, we'll head to the north coast of San Cristobal Island. We'll spend the morning admiring the ravines of Pitt Point, the first thing Charles Darwin saw when he arrived in the Galapagos in 1835. We'll disembark on the same beach as the scientist and hike to the top of the island's cliffs.

Before returning to the ship, you can snorkel to admire the underwater beauty of the island. With a bit of luck, you may even be approached by a sea lion or two!

In the afternoon, we'll visit the Cerro Brujo de San Cristobal. The beach surrounding this ancient volcanic cone will offer us another opportunity to snorkel and see some manta rays, sharks, moray eels, eels, and many other animals. In addition, behind the sand dunes of Cerro Brujo, there are some saltwater ponds that serve as a refuge for iguanas.

We'll finish the day on the boat as in the previous days.

Day 5: San Cristobal Island

To put the perfect finishing touch on the last day of this amazing 5-day cruise through the Galapagos Islands, we'll head to the city of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno.

We'll go to the visitor center of the national park. Through different informative panels and audiovisual pieces, we'll learn more about the volcanic origins of these islands and the peculiarities of their climate.

Finally, we'll take you to the airport of San Cristobal with enough time to catch your flight.
