Fort Samaipata Day Trip (11 hours)
Having picked you up at 8 am, we'll set off on the 2-hour 30-minute drive to Fort Samaipata from Santa Cruz. On the way, we'll see the mountains also known as the "volcanoes" as we ascend to this pre-Columbian site. We'll spend about 40 minutes walking through the ruins before visiting the Samaipata Archaeological Museum.
At around 1 pm, you'll have some free time to have lunch in the village before making our way to the last stop of the day: the waterfalls of Las Cuevas and El Chorro. We'll follow a schedule similar to the one on this day trip to Fort Samaipata.
Fort Samaipata Day Trip and Wine Route (11 hours)
You'll be picked up from your hotel at 8 am and then we'll hit the road. We'll make our first stop at the Landsua vineyards, where we'll learn about the local wine-making process and taste some of their delicious wine. Next, we'll head to Fort Samaipata to learn about why this pre-Columbian archaeological site once held such great importance.
We'll take a 40-minute walk around its ruins before going to the Uvairenda vineyards. Here, we'll visit its vineyards and taste some local wine and cheese. Afterwards, you'll have free time for lunch before we set off once more and make a stop at Las Cuevas on our way back to Santa Cruz. We'll follow an itinerary similar to this trip to Fort Samaipata and the wine route.
San Javier Jesuit Mission Day Trip (13 hours)
We'll pick you up at 7 am and set off on our trip, passing through the villages of Cotoca, Pailas, Pailón and Los Troncos on the way. At around 11 am, we'll arrive at San Javier, where we'll visit the oldest church that was founded by the Jesuits in this region. 1 hour later, we'll drive to Concepción and see the spectacular palm trees, jungles and rock formations that surround the area.
Here, you'll have some free time for lunch before we visit the 18th-century church and the arts and crafts workshops of the Chiquitanos, who make different components for the church. The route we follow on this day trip will be similar to this day trip to the San Javier Jesuit Mission.
San José Jesuit Mission Day Trip (13 hours)
At 7:30 am, we'll pick you up and set off for the San José Jesuit Mission. We'll spend 4 hours driving across the beautiful Bolivian countryside until we reach San José, the third of the oldest Jesuit missions. When we arrive, we'll visit its stone-faced church and the Mission Museum.
After free time for lunch, we'll continue on to Santa Cruz la Vieja to admire breathtaking views of Chiquitano Valley and to visit the workshops of these master craftsmen. On this day trip, we'll follow an itinerary similar to that of this trip to the Jesuit Mission of San José.
