Four Lakes
Choosing this route, you'll go on an 8-kilometer walk that begins between the Caldeira Negra and Comprida lagoons, two volcanic lakes surrounded by native vegetation. From one of the viewpoints, you'll also be able to see the Seca and Branca lagoons. Along the way, you'll see some species like camellias, lilies, prickly pears and oleanders. This route will finish in Fajã Grande and Poço de Bacalhau, where you'll have the chance to take a refreshing dip.
Lajedo & Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro
This route begins in the village of Lajedo right next to the municipality's parish church, an 18th-century gem. From here, we'll follow a 7.8-kilometer path through green meadows. Your guide will tell you the most relevant facts about the island, like the fact that this coastal area is where the RMS Slavonia was shipwrecked. Then, we'll visit Poço Ribeira do Ferreiro, a natural space full of waterfalls among the rocks.
Ponta Ruiva & Ponta Delgada
Starting this hike from Ponta Ruiva, we'll walk along the coastline to admire the steep cliffs and the island of Corvo in the distance. Over the course of 8.5 kilometers, we'll enjoy the unmistakable landscapes of Flores and learn the most curious facts about the island. We'll also see the small Chapel of São João Baptista just before reaching Ponta Delgada and concluding the activity.
Ponta Delgada & Fajã Grande
We'll leave from Ponta Delgada through its green valleys, in search of the best viewpoints on Flores Island. From these various vantage points, we'll see different places like the Albarnaz Lighthouse, the island of Corvo and the islet of Monchique. After walking for a total of 7.5 kilometers and spotting species such as the bullfinch, we will arrive at Fajã Grande.
Ponta Ruiva & Santa Cruz de las Flores
With this option, you'll leave from Ponta Ruiva in the direction of Alagoa, a beautiful bay where you'll see the most spectacular rock formations. You'll also cross through all types of crop fields on this 8-kilometer route, concluding with your arrival at Santa Cruz de las Flores, a municipality in the north of the island.
