San Sebastian Walking Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet up on Alameda del Boulevard. We'll begin our walking tour of San Sebastian by admiring the majestic City Hall and its beautiful location, as it marks the beginning of the famous La Concha Beach.
We'll stroll along the area near the beach and head into the city centre to visit the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. After observing this imposing, Gothic-style religious building, we'll head to Constitution Square. This spot is where the locals have their fiestas and go out for pintxos, a type of Spanish snack served on a skewer and often on a small piece of bread.
Next, we'll cross through the central Brecha Market to explore some of the typical products from this area. We'll then come to the city's historic centre, from which we'll gaze at views of the Bay of Biscay and Zurriola Bridge. From here, we'll be able to see the Conference Centre, aka the Kursaal Elkargunea Centre.
Our walking tour will then take us to the oldest building in San Sebastian, which is San Vicente Church. Before our tour comes to an end, we'll explore 31 August Street, which is the last street of old Donostia. As we walk along this symbolic street, we'll discuss the Napoleonic battles that took place in San Sebastian and how the city managed to rebuild itself to become one of the most visited cities in the Basque Country.
Having explored the city, we'll say our goodbyes an hour and a half after the start of the activity on 31 August Street.
