Tour Highlights
We'll pick you up at the indicated time at Calle Bengoetxea in San Sebastián, and from here we'll head to Ezkio. In this Guipuzcoan area, we'll find the Igartubeiti winepress, a 16th-century Basque farmhouse where we'll learn about the elaboration process of cider.
During the visit, we'll see the wooden materials used to squeeze the apples. In the 16th century, cider production required more than one artisanal process, which we'll learn about.
After exploring the installation, we'll head to a Basque cider house. Depending on the season and availability, we'll go to the traditional Aburuza, Astarbe, Petritegi, Iparragirre, or Saizar cider house.
Here, we'll take a guided tour around the site and, at the end, taste a traditional cider. Then, we'll enjoy lunch at the same place, with a menu that includes cod omelette, fried cod, grilled steaks, cheese with marmalade and nuts, bread, cider and water.
After lunch, we'll head back to the meeting point in San Sebastián, where we'll arrive after a 6-hour tour.
