Albaola Day Trip + Visit to a Basque Cider House
Tour Details
Come with us to discover the heart of Basque culture! At the indicated time, we'll meet at number 2 of Bengoetxea Street and leave San Sebastián behind to go to Albaola, a museum that works in the recovery of the Basque maritime heritage.
When we arrive at the Albaola Maritime Culture Factory, we'll delve into the secrets of the Cantabrian Sea to learn first-hand what the Basque maritime industry was like in the past. During the visit, we'll see how they worked on the construction of historic vessels, such as the old whaler called "San Juan", which dates back to the 16th century and is one of the best examples of the first transoceanic cargo ships that sailed from the Basque Country to Newfoundland.
After a full exploration of this unique museum, we'll head to a Basque cider house, where we'll take a tour to see the work behind one of northern Spain's most prized beverages.
Once we've toured all the rooms of the cider house, we'll enjoy a cider tasting and a delicious meal in the restaurant. The menu includes the following:
- Apéritif of the day
- Cod Spanish omelette
- Fried cod with peppers
- Grilled T-bone steak
- Cheese, quince fruit and nuts
- Cider, bread and coffee
After enjoying these delicacies, we'll bring you back to San Sebastián and put an end to the trip after a total of 6 hours.
