Suchitoto Trip
Suchitoto Trip
After picking you up from your selected meeting point in San Salvador, we'll begin our journey to a beautiful national park area of lakes and volcanoes. There, you'll encounter the magnificent Santa Ana Volcano, also known as Llamatepec, which rises up a staggering 7,812 feet above sea level. heading to Suchitoto, known as the "City of the Flower Bird." After a one-hour drive, you'll be greeted by the sight of the elegant 18th-century buildings which have made this a popular tourist destination.
Here, as we stroll through the idyllic cobbled streets, it'll seem as if time has stood still since the colonial era. We will also enter one of its most important historical buildings in the city: the church of Santa Lucia.
You'll hear all about how Suchitoto was founded by the indigenous Pipil people. This tribe settled in the territory in the 11th century, and their cultural heritage is still evident in the artisan shops and art galleries that line the streets of the village.
At the end of the visit, we'll drive back to our meeting point in San Salvador.
