Hornaditas Trip
Hornaditas Trip
At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Jujuy to start an unforgettable route through the north of Argentina.
We will make the first stop at the Quebrada de Sapagua, where we will take a one hour walk to discover the famous wall paintings of Sapagua. You will learn all about what the different figures of this rock art represent and the different interpretations of what the pictures mean. We will also tell you how this area of South America evolved during the Inca and Spanish periods.
After learning about the history of Sapagua, we will continue our adventure at the nearby community of Hornaditas. The inhabitants of this old rural village will open the doors to their houses to show us the main customs and traditions of their ancestral culture.
They will teach us, for example, how to operate their traditional looms, how to cook their products, and how to handcraft clay ornaments. By the end, you will almost feel like a member of the Hornaditas community! To get an even better understanding of their culture, we will share a delicious traditional lunch consisting of several dishes of the local gastronomy.
After lunch, we will finally return to your hotel in Jujuy, where we arrive at 6 pm.
