Hike to Jordan Hot Springs
Ticket Options
When reserving this hiking activity, you can choose between two options. Both include hotel pickup in Salvador de Jujuy and conclude at the same designated point.
7-hour hike
Leaving San Salvador de Jujuy behind, our journey to the Jordan hot springs starts with a bus trip through the scenic Calilegua National Park. By mid-morning, we'll reach the town of San Francisco, beginning our descent on foot to reach the inviting turquoise pools of the hot springs.
Upon reaching this natural haven, we'll find it's tucked away in a shaded, mountainous jungle area, offering incomparable natural surroundings. Here, we invite you to bathe in these rejuvenating and tranquil waters.
You'll also have ample time to enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants before we make our way back to the starting point.
12-hour hike
After picking you up from your hotel in Salvador de Jujuy, we'll leave the town behind as we set off toward the town of San Francisco.
We'll stroll through the town, immersing ourselves in the history of its ancestors. As we come to the edge of the town, we'll start our 700-meter descent (2,296 feet) through the jungle. The path will lead us to a viewpoint, a natural balcony, where we'll pause briefly to see the Jordan hot springs come up over the horizon and marvel at their turquoise waters.
As we reach the Jordan hot springs, you'll have some free time to unwind in the natural pools. Did you know that these pools contain numerous minerals with various health benefits, including sulfur? Don't miss out on spending at least an hour in these therapeutic waters.
Then, you'll have some time to enjoy lunch at your leisure at a campsite nearby. Once reenergized, we'll start our hike to La Cruz Mayor viewpoint, sitting at an elevation of 800 meters (2,624 feet) above sea level.
The hiking adventure continues beyond the La Cruz Mayor viewpoint, taking us to La Cara del Indio—an ancient figure sculpted into the rock by the forces of wind and water. As we wind down the tour and bring you back to the starting point in San Salvador, we'll also make a stop at the Monument to the Pachamama.
