La Merced Excursion
La Merced Excursion
After picking you up at your hotel in San Ramón at 10:30 am, we'll make our way to La Merced, located in the middle of the central Peruvian jungle.
We'll climb to an altitude of 750 meters (2,460 feet) above sea level to reach this town on the banks of the Chanchamayo River. You'll be impressed by the lush vegetation surrounding La Merced, which stands out for its beautiful waterfalls and rich wildlife.
Upon arrival in La Merced, we'll go on a sightseeing tour of Plaza Principal, the main square where we'll see the Matriz Church and its beautiful two-colored façade.
Afterward, we'll head to the beautiful waterfall of El Tirol, one of the natural jewels of La Merced. After taking the obligatory photos in this magical oasis, we'll visit the Las Delicias orchid garden, where we'll learn about different types of these delicate flowers.
The next part of the tour will be spent discovering the fauna of La Merced at the Zhaveta Yard butterfly farm and zoo, where we'll see parrots, sloths, monkeys, and many other native species.
Finally, we'll admire the vistas of the city from the viewpoint of La Cruz before returning to San Ramón. We'll drop you off at your hotel around 3:30 pm.
