The BIBO PARK Ibiza Biotechnological Botanical is one of the most outstanding conservation parks on the Balearic Islands! On this guided tour, we'll discover all the unique plant species it houses and the latest biotechnological advances for the care of the natural environment!
Tour Details
The BIBO PARK Ibiza Biotechnological Botanical is a park dedicated to the conservation of vegetation and the promotion of biotechnological research. It's currently home to more than 25,000 plants of 160 different species – a botanical paradise! It also has the world's first plant piano!
The guided tour will start in front of the photobioreactor that allows the growth of microalgae. It's a sophisticated device with 200 metres of transparent tubes and a volume of 1200 liters of water. The microalgae, which are used as fertilizer, consume carbon dioxide at a voracious rate. Did you know that this great "appetite" contributes to the cleaning of the atmosphere?
The tour will continue by observing some endemic and some already extinct species. Yes, there are still some specimens in the garden that don't grow anywhere else! We'll also view a replica of a typical Mediterranean salt cellar built, among other materials, with stakes more than 100 years old.
The next stop will be the BIBO PARK's atmospheric water generators. You can sample its pure and crystalline water, which hasn't been treated with chemicals such as chlorine or fluorine, nor has it been exposed to toxins, bacteria, viruses or parasites.
We'll continue the tour next to the bee hives and the BIBO PARK lake a recreation of salt pan habitats, passing through the Plato's Corner area. Of course, we won't say goodbye before enjoying a real connection with nature with the plant piano, the first in the world to produce light and sound. After an hour long guided tour, we'll bring the activity to an end.
After finishing the tour, you'll be able to enjoy on your own accord the stunning collection of bonsais at the Pitiusas and a collection of aromatics and medicinals.
