Barceló Rum Historical Centre Tour
Description
Located on the outskirts of San Pedro de Macorís town, the Barceló Rum Historical Centre is the most famous rum factory in the Dominican Republic. To visit its facilities, at the scheduled time, we'll meet at the main entrance.
First off, we'll make our way to the barrel room, where we'll discover how the aging process of the rum works. We'll also learn about the cultivation of sugarcane and discover the phases of distillation, that allow for the creation of such a high-quality product.
Next, enter the blending room, the final step in rum-making. Here, we'll see how the desired consistency, taste, smell and colour are given to the drink, which is now one of the main Dominican products internationally.
The visit will then continue in the bottling room, labelling room, and packaging room, which will allow us to see how the bottles of rum are distributed all around the world. Do you know how many countries this popular drink is distributed to? You'll find out!
Finally, after a tour of around an hour, our visit will end at the tasting bar, where you'll enjoy a tasting of your choosing that you'll have selected when making your booking.
