Relax in the therapeutic waters of the Puritama Hot Springs when you take this amazing trip from San Pedro Atacama. These natural thermal baths are located at the foot of the magnificent Andes mountain range.
Puritama Hot Springs Trip
We'll collect you from your hotel in the centre of San Pedro de Atacama at your chosen time and then start driving south. After around 30 minutes, we'll reach a canyon with a stream of natural thermal water.
The Puritama Hot Springs are seven pools of geothermal spring water formed from this stream, situated in a stunning location at the foot of the magnificent Andean mountain range. Once we've arrived, you'll have 3 hours of free time to enjoy the hot springs and take a soothing dip in these amazing natural baths.
The thermal waters reach up to 33.5ºC (92.3ºF) and are rich in minerals such as magnesium, sodium, lithium, and potassium. Inhabitants of the surrounding region have been using these spring baths since before the Spanish conquest as a traditional treatment for rheumatism, arthritis, and muscle fatigue.
This site is equipped with wooden walkways which connect all eight natural pools and the installations, such as bathrooms and the cafe. It'll therefore be nice and easy for you to make the most of your time on the site and enjoy the relaxing properties of the hot springs.
Fully rested and recharged, we'll then start our return journey back to the small square in central San Pedro de Atacama, where we'll arrive 4 hours 30 minutes after our departure.
