San Pedro de Atacama Hot Air Balloon Ride
Rise and shine! We'll pick you up from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama bright and early and set off for the lift-off point in the outskirts of the city.
After a pre-flight tea or coffee, we'll start our hot air balloon ride. You'll see the breathtaking sight of the sunrise over the Atacama Desert, which is the driest desert in the world. From this part of northern Chile, you'll have an incredible and panoramic bird's eye view of the Andes Mountains.
During our hot air balloon ride over San Pedro de Atacama, you'll also admire other spots such as the Atacama salt flat, the Domeyco mountain range and the La Paciencia plains. In addition, we'll fly over the famous Moon Valley. This spectacular desert landscape is located in the Antofagasta region, which is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve.
You'll touch down in the outskirts of San Pedro de Atacama and have a breakfast consisting of local products. Our breakfast will include French-style bread and croissants, artisanal jam from Toconao and seasonal fruits. There'll also be a delicious selection of goat's cheese, Inca corn and grains. To drink, you can have coffee, tea, hot chocolate or fruit juice.
Once we've finished our breakfast, we'll take you back to your hotel. We should arrive back at your hotel between 3 and 4 hours after pickup.
Schedule
The pickup time from your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama will vary depending on the sunrise time at the time of year you've booked the activity:
- December to March: At 5 am
- April to November: Between 7 and 8 am
These times may change depending on weather conditions. We'll let you know the pickup time well in advance.
Once we're in the air, the flight time will be between 45 minutes and 1 hour 30 minutes. This will depend on the weather conditions at the time.
