Tafi del Valle, Cafayate and Quilmes Trip
We will pick you up at your hotel in San Miguel de Tucumán at 7:30 am, before heading to the ruins of San José de Lules. Once there, we will explore the places where the Lules Indians were evangelized.
We then continue our journey, arriving at the Los Menhires archaeological reserve. More than 50 megaliths are found in this place and each one tells a different story. Later, we will arrive at Tafi del Valle, a small village on the pass between Calchaqui valley and Chacopampa plain.
There will then be free time for you to take lunch on your own or take the opportunity to stroll through the streets and see the 18th century Conjunto Jesuítico de La Banda. Afterward, we will ascend the Cumbres Calchaquíes mountains, which form part of the Andes, before we reach the popular ruins of Quilmes. We will learn about the strong resistance that the Calchaqui Indians against the Spanish conquerors.
We will continue for an hour's drive to Cafayate, a town known for its vineyards. There, we will take a walk through the historic center and go to a winery for a wine tasting. This region is where the famous Torrontés grape is cultivated.
At 4 pm, we will leave the territory of Cafayate and drive back to San Miguel de Tucuman where our fantastic experience finishes.
