Day Trip to Catamarca
Tour Itinerary: Explore Catamarca
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tucumán at the scheduled time and head south toward San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca.
Our Catamarca tour will kick off upon reaching this picturesque city in northwestern Argentina, nestled near the Nevados del Aconquija. Our first stop will be at the 25 de Mayo Square, where you can admire the grand facade of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Valley.
Next, we'll pass by the San Francisco Church and visit the Mercado Artesanal, where you can get some typical Catamarca sweets. You'll then have an hour to enjoy lunch near the market.
After lunch, we'll head to the outskirts of Catamarca to explore a carpet factory. From there, we'll proceed to the Gruta de la Virgen del Valle, home to one of the province's most famous carvings. We'll delve into its fascinating story once we get there.
Our last stop will be at the Monumento a la Zamba del Portezuelo. This spot offers breathtaking views of the surroundings. After soaking in the panoramic scenery, we'll begin our return journey, making a stop in the town of Aguilares to further explore the history of this area.
We'll conclude the excursion by dropping you off at your hotel in Tucumán, with an estimated arrival time of 10 hours after pickup.
