Natural pools, lush greenery and sculptures in the middle of nature await on our 2-day tour to Xilitla and Tamasopo. We'll visit the main sights of these two incredible places on this trip from San Luis Potosí.
Xilitla & Tamasopo 2 Day Tour
Day 1: San Luis Potosí - Xilitla
At 6:30 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Luis Potosí and hit the road to Xilitla, a unique town where man and nature live in harmony.
After a 5-hour drive, we'll arrive at the Sculpture Garden of Edward James in Las Pozas. Here, we'll find over 30 works of art spread across an 8-hectare forest that display Gothic and Egyptian influences. We'll tell you all about this beautiful place while observing stairs that lead nowhere, castles, houses and columns.
Next, we'll head to the Magic Town of Xilitla where the Leonora Carrington Sculpture Museum awaits. This museum is dedicated to one of Mexico's most important artists, who was also a key figure in the surrealism movement. We'll discuss the collection of sculptures, jewellery, engravings and personal objects on display in the museum.
You'll then have the rest of the day free to stroll around Xilitla at your leisure and try some of its traditional dishes. Sleep tight!
Day 2: Xilitla - Tamasopo - San Luis Potosí
Good morning! We'll begin our second day with a delicious breakfast and then visit the famous Tamasopo Waterfalls, which are nestled in the middle of lush greenery. You'll be able to relax here to the sound of the waterfall cascading from a height of 65 feet (20 metres).
Our next stop will be the Bridge of God, a cave full of stalactites and stalagmites formed by natural rock. In this breathtaking spot we'll find a turquoise water eye, which is the perfect place to relax.
Before returning to San Luis Potosí, you'll have some free time until 4:30 pm for lunch. We'll drop you back at your hotel at 9:30 pm.
