Diving in Laguna de la Media Luna
Diving in Laguna de la Media Luna
At 7 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in San Luis Potosí. From there we'll go to Laguna de la Media Luna, a lake in Rio Verde. Ready to go diving? Off we go!
After a 90-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Media Luna diving school, where we'll take a required course on diving safety and prepare for the dive.
Once ready, we'll head to the lagoon and get set up with the necessary equipment. Time for the best part! We'll begin a dive of approximately 40 minutes, in which we'll see petrified trees, caves, and unique marine animals.
At the bottom, we'll even see the remains of two mammoth skeletons, which is why outside of Mexico this place is known as Mammoth Lake. These ancient remains have been preserved thanks to the karst origin of the lagoon.
During the activity, we'll tell you all kinds of secrets that hide within these crystalline waters. The lake, which has an average temperature of about 20ºC (60ºF), is very deep and reaches up to 36.7 meters (120 feet)!
At the end of our dive, we'll have a snack to recover some of our energy. Then, we'll continue enjoying the lake for a while longer, swimming, and getting to know this natural environment. At 3 pm we'll have a delicious lunch and then we'll return to the city.
We'll conclude the diving activity by leaving you at your hotel in San Luis Potosí at 7 pm.
