Tour Description
Would you like to experience the purest of Puerto Rican culture and music? We'll pick you up at your hotel in San Juan at the indicated time and start this tour through the most authentic and vibrant urban spots of the capital and the town of Loíza. Get ready to break out your best dance moves, because we'll also learn how to dance salsa and bomba!
First of all, we'll go in search of Cerra Street, located in the popular district of Santurce. We'll set out to explore its murals while getting to know the purest cultural movement in San Juan. We'll visit Dosis coffee shop, where you can get yourself a delicious Puerto Rican coffee.
Next, we'll head to La Placita, where we'll be surrounded by fresh fruit stalls and get ready for a fun 1-hour Puerto Rican salsa class. We'll learn the basic steps and move our hips to the rhythm of the trumpets and lively timbales in true Puerto Rican style: in the neighbourhood square!
Afterwards, we'll get into the vehicle and take a 40-minute drive to Loíza, a very authentic town full of cultural life. There, we'll head to the N'Zambi Bomba Workshop, where an expert instructor will teach us how to dance bomba for another hour. In addition to learning all about the first all-Boricua rhythm in history, you'll experience the joy of this musical genre. We'll discover why they say Puerto Rico is bomba, and you won't be able to resist the passion of the drums!
After becoming an expert, we'll head to the seaside neighbourhood of Piñones. Did you know that many say the real Puerto Rico is found here? We'll discover it as we walk through its narrow streets where we can taste its popular fried food and watch the daily life.
Finally, we'll head back to San Juan, and we'll say goodbye after a 6-hour tour at your hotel.
