San Fernando Reserve Tour
San Fernando Reserve Tour
We'll pick you up from Andrés Avelino Cáceres Street in San Juan de Marcona at 9:30 am and, once we're all together, we'll set off towards the San Fernando National Reserve. On the way, we'll have wonderful views of the bay of San Nicolas.
On arrival, we'll be given an introductory talk on the area's wildlife and morphology. Did you know that the desert, the sea and the hills all come together here? We'll go to a viewpoint from where we'll be able to see colonies of Humboldt penguins and sea lions.
Time for lunch! We'll replenish our energy with a delicious lunch of a Creole dish, a fruit and a soft drink. Afterwards, we'll take a dip on the beach and then we'll pick sea urchins to make our own ceviche! There we'll see the "Elephant's Trunk ", an interesting rock formation that looks a lot like an animal, can you guess which one?
Next, we'll go to a viewpoint of Andean condors, a bird that usually nests in inaccessible rocky areas and feeds on the placenta of female sea lions when they give birth. We may also see Guanay cormorants, common gallinules, Inca terns or pelicans.
Finally we'll set off back to San Juan de Marcona, where we're expected to arrive back at the starting point at 6:30 pm.
