Valle de Calingasta Trip
At 7 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in San Juan and head to the first stop at the Cerro Villicum hill where the views will take your breath away.
We will continue the tour by passing through the town of Talacasto and the famous Quebrada de las Burras gorge. Once we pass this stunning geographical feature, we will arrive at the beautiful Calingasta Valley. Located here is the picturesque town of Barreal, where you will have one hour free to have lunch (not included).
Feeling re-energized, we will travel from Barreal to the nearby El Leoncito National Park. This great Andean natural space in the Valley of Calingasta stands out for its amazing landscapes. During the tour through the park, we will explain to you some fascinating facts of the native fauna, whose main animals are the suri cordillerano and a species of llama known as the guanaco.
We will continue the tour by visiting the Astronomical Observatory of El Leoncito. We will learn all about how the celestial bodies are studied at this scientific research center. The astronomers make the most of the area's crystal clear skies that are free of light pollution. After this visit, we will make a last stop at Cerro Alcázar hill where we enjoy the panoramic views at the summit.
Finally, we will return to your hotel in San Juan, where we will arrive at 6 pm.
