Description

Having met up at the indicated starting point at the scheduled time, we'll set off on our free walking tour of San José

After a brief introduction, we'll see the façade of the Legislative Assembly and the National Museum of Costa Rica. Do you know why the latter building is painted yellow? After finding out the answer, we'll take a walk through the most emblematic points of the historic centre of the city.

To begin, we'll head for the Paseo de Los Damas. We'll find out why this Paseo includes "los" instead of "las", which isn't the norm in Spanish, and then pass through the National, Spanish, and Morazán Parks. After winding through these parks, we'll come to Central Park where we'll admire the imposing façade on the Metropolitan Cathedral of San José.

The tour will continue through the old town of San José, where we'll learn lots of fun facts and details about Costa Rica's political system. We'll also discuss some key events in its history and how the country has evolved over the years.

Before saying our goodbyes, we'll take a stroll around the popular San Jose Market and visit the oldest ice cream parlor in the city. If you like, you can try one of their delicious products at your own expense.

After 2 to 3 hours spent exploring the city, our free walking tour of San José will come to an end.
