On this excursion, we'll visit the Turrialba and Irazú volcanos and take a stroll around both national parks. Did you know that they are the highest craters in the country?
Description
Being in Costa Rica and not visiting at least one volcano is a crime. The country boasts some imposing craters, creating landscapes that you will instantly fall in love with. We'll pick you up from your hotel at the scheduled time and take you on a trip to the Turriable and Irazú volcanos.
First off, we'll make our way to the Irazú Volcano National Park, located in Cartago. Over an hour, we'll take a hike around the outskirts of the imposing crater. Did you know it's one of the highest volcanos in Costa Rica?
Irazú is home to 5 craters and is surrounded by low vegetation that blends in perfectly with the mountainous atmosphere. We'll climb to the top and if it's a clear day, we'll be able to see some fantastic views of both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
After the hiking route, we'll give you an hour of free time to enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant. Once we've eaten, we'll head towards the Turrialba Volcano National Park, one of the most active volcanos in the country.
Although we won't go to the top of its crater, we'll walk around the outskirts where, in addition to the typical volcanic terrain, and if weather permitting, we'll see the different waterfalls that have formed in its forests. The contrasting landscapes will impress you!
Finally, after around 8 or 10 hours, we'll say our goodbyes back at the hotel, where the tour will come to an end.
