Yosemite & Giant Sequoias Day Trip
Tour Details
We'll pick you up from the Signia by Hilton Hotel in San Jose and drive 3 hours east, leaving the city behind. Relax and enjoy the scenic drive as we gear up for an incredible day trip to Yosemite National Park and the Giant Sequoia Redwoods.
As we travel, our guide will tell us about what sparked the California Gold Rush, the geology behind Yosemite, and what role John Muir played in the development of the US' first protected wilderness sites.
Once we arrive, we'll head to the Tunnel View lookout point, made famous by photographer Ansel Adams. Snap your own photos of El Capitan and Half Dome before continuing to Bridalveil Falls, once worshiped by the Ahwahneechee people.
Next up, we'll arrive at Yosemite Valley, the highlight of our day. Here, you'll have 2 hours of free time to explore and have lunch at your own pace. You can hike one of the trails, visit Yosemite Falls — the tallest waterfall in North America — or explore Sentinel Meadow to view the Ansel Adams Gallery.
After meeting back up, our journey continues to El Capitan Meadow, where we'll learn about Yosemite’s iconic granite monolith and its challenging climbing routes. Then, we'll visit Valley View lookout for sweeping views of El Capitan and the Merced River
Last but not least, we'll make the scenic drive to the Tuolumne Grove of Redwoods, one of the most beautiful parts of the park. Here, we'll see the 'Grizzly Giant,' one of the world’s largest sequoias with a 30-meter (98-foot) circumference of the base. Weather conditions permitting, we'll hike the nature trail to get up close and personal with these massive trees.
After an unforgettable day in the nation's most famous national park, we'll begin our return journey. We'll stop for dinner on the way back before returning to the meeting point after a 15-hour adventure.
