We will pick you up at 7 a.m from your hotel in San Ignacio before driving across the border into Guatemala. Then we head through the lush green jungle for thirty minutes before reaching our destination: the citadel of Tikal.
Get ready to encounter one of the most important Mayan sites in Central America. We will walk among more than 3000 structures and discover what life was like for the pre-Columbian nobility. You may recognize Tikal from scenes in Hollywood blockbuster films such as Star Wars and James Bond.
Then we arrive at Central Park, the location of the Pyramid of Guatemala, which is where religious sacrifices took place. We will also ascend the Temple of the Masks, one of the most visited in Tikal. We could not leave without going up to Temple IV, which is 209 feet high.
After three and a half hours exploring the citadel, we'll go to a local restaurant in Tikal where we will enjoy a lunch consisting of soup, a meat or vegetarian main course, and vegetables and rice.
Having regained our strength, we will return to San Ignacio and accompany you back to your accommodation to finish the excursion at 4:30 pm.
Border crossing
When you make the booking, you can choose the option with pick-up at the border with Guatemala. The itinerary will be the same, but we will meet at the border crossing at 7:30 am and finish at 4 pm at the same place.
Necessary documents
During the journey from San Ignacio, we will cross the border between Belize and Guatemala. Therefore you will be required to bring your passport.
