Barton Creek Trip
We will pick you up at 9 a.m at your hotel in San Ignacio and the drive for around 45 minutes into the beautiful Belize wilderness. We will encounter ancient villages and the wonderful Barton Creek Mennonite farm where you will discover the traditional way of life.
Crossing idyllic valleys, we eventually reach Barton Creek River where we jump into a canoe and head to Barton Creek Cave. This mystical location is said to be the Mayan underworld! We enter this amazing limestone grotto and paddle through its different areas, where you will see crystallized formations and caverns that open up to 260 feet high.
Back outside, we will sail to the river bank and disembark from the canoes. Then we will enjoy a tasty lunch consisting of rice, chicken, beans and fried plantain.
Finally, we will return to San Ignacio and accompany you to your accommodation to finish the activity at 2 pm.
