The region of Santander is full of tradition and exotic nature. We'll discover the iconic Cueva del Indio. We'll tour the cave, greet the bats and enjoy a dip in the natural pool.
Description
After we've picked you up from your hotel, we'll leave Barichara behind and make our way into the countryside of Santander. After 3.5 hours, we'll arrive at our destination: the Cueva del Indio.
Ready to descend to 80 metres (262 feet)? Once we've gone down, we'll begin exploring the first room. The bats that inhabit will give us a warm welcome. They don't bite! We'll keep exploring the nooks and crannies of this tiny cave and between rocky walls, we'll arrive at a chamber where the warm water will splash off our feet.
During our exploration, we'll see stalagmites and stalactites. Like true cavers, we'll slide through the rocks and go through tunnels. And if you thought you'd see everything in Cueva del Indio, wait until we'll arrive at the natural pools! The trek will take us to a precipice, where the bravest of us will have the chance to jump 10 metres (32 feet) into fresh water.
After leaving the cave, we'll return to the motorway. But the day won't finish here. During our journey back, we'll make a stop at Páramo to discover the town. The perfect combination of exotic landscapes and colonial estates.
Pickup
We'll pick you up from your accommodation in either San Gil or Barichara. If you're staying in the latter town, pickup will be 30 minutes after San Gil.
