Yosemite National Park Day Trip

Having picked you up from your selected meeting point, we'll leave the city behind and head east.

During the approximately 4-hour drive, we'll cross the Sierra Nevada Mountains and pass through old western towns and gold rush towns. We'll tell you about John Muir's pivotal role in establishing America's first protected wilderness area.

Once in Yosemite, we'll make a photo stop at the Tunnel View overlook. From here, you'll be able to see incredible sights such as the granite formation Half Dome, the Cathedral Peak mountain range, and Bridalveil Falls, a waterfall revered by the Ahwahneechee.

Afterwards, next to the Yosemite Valley Lodge, you'll have free time for lunch and to explore the park at your own pace. We recommend walking to Yosemite Falls, strolling through Cook's Meadow or relaxing by the Merced River.

After regrouping, we'll drive past El Capitan Meadow, the world's largest granite monolith, famous for its challenging climb. We'll then stop at the Valley View overlook, from where we'll have a wonderful view of the Merced River and the towering spires of Cathedral Rocks.

Our last stop will be the Giant Sequoia Grove (Tuolumne Grove), where we'll see the largest trees on the planet. This magical place is home to the Grizzly Giant Sequoia, one of the largest sequoias in the world, with a base almost 30 meters (98 feet) in circumference.

Itinerary Changes

Due to safety reasons, in the winter months between November and March, and at any other time that weather conditions prevent it, we'll substitute the hike through Tuolumne Grove with more time in Yosemite Valley.
