Silicon Valley Day Trip
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Hilton Union Square, depending on which you choose. Then, we'll set off on our excursion to the “tech capital of the world,” Silicon Valley!
Our first destination on this exciting journey is Googleplex, the technological playground that makes up the Google Campus. From open spaces, abstract sculptures, bike lanes, and themed offices, you might find yourself getting envious of these 'Googlers' (as employees are affectionately known). Here, we can snap some photos with Android statues before hitting the Visitor Center to learn about the latest projects going on at Google.
Then, we'll go to the Computer History Museum, where we'll take a walk through four decades of computing technology – including the rare Apple I and the first-ever Google server! This extensive and detailed museum will immerse you in everything computers, from graphics to games.
Now it's time to grab some food and see what daily life in Palo Alto looks like! One of the 5 most expensive cities in the U.S., Palo Alto houses some of the most educated people in the country. If time permits, we'll swing by the humble HP Garage for more tech tales on how the city began its path to fame and fortune.
Next up, we'll make a quick stop at Stanford University, a historic school that has become a cornerstone of innovation. We'll admire the architecture of the Quad, where students often enjoy a short break in between classes and Hoover Tower. As we stroll through the campus we'll learn about the contribution Standford students have made to the world of tech, business, and Silicon Valley.
At our final stop, we'll experience Apple's newly-opened Visitor's Center. Complete with interactive stations to explore their new technology, a world-class cafe, and a fully-stocked Apple store, this unique building takes you to the forefront of Apple's new releases. We won't be able to roam the corporate headquarters in person, but we can grab an iPad and explore the top-secret campus via virtual reality!
Once we've completed our full day retracing the steps of today's tech leaders, we'll head back to San Francisco. On the way, be prepared for a green and scenic ride. We'll pass the protected Crystal Springs Reservoir & San Andreas Lake before making it back in time for dinner in the city.
