Champoton Tour
Description
After picking you up at 8 am at the Ocean View Hotel in Campeche, we'll head south to Champoton, one of the most beautiful cities on the western coast of the Yucatan Peninsula!
Our first stop will be at the San José Carpizo hacienda, located in the northwest of Champotón. The remains of this former cattle and henequen hacienda are a great example of the architecture that developed in the region throughout the 19th century. You'll love it!
Next, we'll head to downtown Champotón for a guided tour. In its beautiful old town, we'll visit its picturesque main square and admire the façade of the colonial-style church of Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes.
Champoton is also considered the gastronomic capital of the state of Campeche. After the city tour, you'll have an hour at leisure to have lunch and discover its great variety of traditional dishes. Did you know that fish and seafood are the main ingredients of local recipes? There are also other specialties made with beans and meat, if you prefer.
After lunch, we'll go to the Costa del Sol beach club, where you'll have an hour free to relax and sunbathe in the sun loungers and hammocks.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point, where we'll arrive at 3 pm.
