What makes Coronado Island so special that it was chosen as a place of residence by many celebrities in the 20th century? If you want to explore it, at the time indicated we'll meet at Rotary Park, in the heart of Coronado Island, and we'll start a guided tour that will allow us to discover the secrets of one of the most curious places in California.
Located just on the other side of San Diego Bay, Coronado Island is considered by many the best beach in the United States. After an introduction to its history, we'll explore the streets of Coronado in search of its architectural jewels. It's worth noting that many of its buildings were built using the most advanced technology at the time.
To learn even more about the history of Coronado, we'll visit the Coronado Historic Museum, where we'll see numerous objects and photographs that will take us back in time to discover the island's past.
Then, we'll head to a bar to enjoy a snack. Afterwards, we'll continue the visit and go to Coronado Beach, perfect for exploring around millionaire's houses on Ocean Boulevard, such as the Spreckles Mansion. Additionally, on clear days, we'll even be able to see the coast of Mexico!
To top off the tour, we'll stop at the famous Hotel del Coronado, a hotel with over 130 years of history during which it has housed film stars and even different presidents of the United States. Did you know that it featured in a scene in Some Like It Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe?
Finally, we'll end this guided tour of Coronado Island in the centre of the island after 2.5 hours.
