4 or 5 Day Tour of San Cristobal Island
Itinerary
Day 1: San Cristobal Airport - Cerro Tijeretas - La Lobería Beach
Welcome to San Cristobal Island! We'll start our tour by picking you up at the airport and taking you to the hotel in Baquerizo Moreno Port, where you'll check in and get ready for the first day of adventure. Are you ready?
Our first stop will be Cerro Tijeretas, not far from Baquerizo Moreno Port. Once we arrive at this natural viewpoint, the local fragatas birds will give us a warm welcome. We'll learn how to spot and differentiate these birds!
After making a pause for lunch, we'll head to the impressive La Lobería Beach. As its name indicates, this beach is home to a huge number of sea lions. We'll also observe birds such as the Maria Canary and various species of finches, as well as marine iguanas.
Finally, we'll take you back to the accommodation in Baquerizo Moreno Port.
Day 2: Interpretation Centre San Cristobal - Playa Mann
After a delicious breakfast, we'll head to the Interpretation Centre in San Cristobal. Here, we'll learn all about the islands' history, its natural importance and the impact of humans. In the Natural History room, we'll learn about the volcanic origin of the archipelago, and in the Human History room, we'll talk about the colonisation of the Galapagos Islands. Before continuing our tour, we'll take a break for lunch.
The next stop will be Mann Beach, formed by broken shells and crystal clear waters that are perfect for snorkelling. Here, we'll enjoy a spectacular sunset and, finally, take you back to Baquerizo Moreno Port.
Day 3: El Junco Lake - Galapaguera - Puerto Chino
After breakfast, we'll visit El Junco Lake, located inside an extinct volcano. Here, we'll take a hiking route around the area around this natural oasis surrounded by juncos and miconias, an endemic plant species to the Galapagos Islands. It'll be like a real paradise!
Once the route is over, we'll go to Galapaguera del Cerro Colorado, a centre for raising land tortoises. We'll learn about this giant reptile variety that inhabits the Galapagos Islands and see different birds and endemic vegetation.
We'll end the day at a quiet white sandy beach in Puerto Chino, swimming in the turquoise sea and surrounded by lava rocks and mangroves. Did you know that it's a refuge for sea lions, turtles and birds?
After a day full of adventures, we'll take you back to Baquerizo Moreno Port.
Day 4: San Cristobal airport
After breakfast, we'll take you to San Cristobal Airport with enough time to catch your flight home. See you soon!
5-day tour
If you want to enjoy an extra day on San Cristobal Island, you can choose the 5-day option:
Days 1 and 2 of the tour will be the same as the 4-day tour.
On day 3, we'll visit León Dormido (sleeping lion) or Kicker Rock, a rocky island in the middle of the sea. Do you know where it got its name from? Here, we'll see lots of bird species that live on this rock. Additionally, we'll give you an hour to bathe in the Kicker Rock canal. Don't forget to bring your snorkel mask!
Then, we'll head to Cerro Brujo, on the north of the island. It's one of the most beautiful sandy beaches in San Cristobal. It's located on an eroded volcanic cone and its shape might remind you of a witch's hat. From the beach, we'll have incredible views of León Dormido and the higher part of the island.
The 4th day will be the same as day 3 on the 4-day route. On the 5th day, we'll take you to the airport.
