Rancho Nuevo & El Arcotete Tour
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas and set off on our tour of two of the region's most unique natural spots: the Rancho Nuevo Ecopark and El Arcotete.
In just 20 minutes we'll arrive at the Rancho Nuevo Ecotourism Park, where you'll be delighted with a postcard-perfect view of dozens of conifer-lined trails. During our tour of the ecopark we'll get to visit some magnificent caves. Discovered in 1547, these natural caverns have a gallery stretching more than 10 kilometres underground, and full of stalactites and stalagmites. We'll walk along a 750-metre long walkway while we learn about the origins of this imposing rock formation.
After exploring the caves, you'll have 40 minutes free time to see more of the area at your leisure. Afterwards, we'll set off for the El Arcotete Ecotourism Park, a wildly beautiful environment where pines, cypresses and oaks abound.
Here, we'll discover the famous 50-metre-high limestone arch over the Fogótico River, a true natural wonder! If you look closely, you'll be able to spot the impressive caves above the arch and admire their unusual shapes.
At the end of the four-hour tour, we'll take you back to your hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas.
