Tierra Activa Traditional Baking Workshop
Head to Finca Tierra Activa, located 3 miles (5 km) from San Agustín, to attend this fun traditional baking workshop!
First, we'll put on our aprons and hats, and then we'll get down to work! We'll prepare artisan bread and cakes made in the most traditional style, with wheat flour, corn, canna starch, cassava, taro, or puruto. We'll also use other nutritious ingredients such as quinoa, oats, or flaxseed.
We'll make the mixture, shape the dough/batter as desired, and then place it in the wood oven. Then, we'll let the bread or cake rest for about 30 minutes, time that we'll take advantage of to learn about the plants that are grown on the farm.
Once the bread/cake is ready, we'll taste our delicious creations, accompanied by a drink such as coffee, chocolate, or tea.
The traditional baking workshop at Tierra Activa will end after 2 hours of activity.
