At the appointed time we'll meet at the Tierra Activa farm, where the hosts, mother and daughter, will be waiting to greet you and offer you freshly harvested fruit as a welcome.
Afterwards, it'll be time to explore the ins and outs of life on the farm. We'll see the kitchen with a wood stove and watch how sancocho, a delicious traditional stew, is prepared.
Then you'll be given hats, baskets, machetes, and walking sticks, and we'll walk along the trails of the farm while we learn about the many uses of the diverse plants and vegetables. You'll even be able to taste some fruit and climb a treehouse to see the spectacular landscapes of this area of Huila from up there.
You'll see how the plants are cultivated and we'll gather around to watch as the guide says a prayer to the Pachamama, thanking her for helping this living being to grow.
After this ceremony, we'll tour the farm's vegetable gardens and aromatic and medicinal plant crops and stop at Tierra Activa's coffee plantation to see how the beans are fermented, selected, and dried.
To end the activity on a yummy note, we'll have a cup of organic coffee or cocoa accompanied by bread and handmade arepas. If you have chosen the option that includes a meal, we'll serve you a menu with products from the farm.
We'll end this immersive experience and say goodbye to the hosts two hours after the beginning of the tour.
