Samarkand Private Tour
Tour Details
We'll pick you up from your hotel at the designated time and set off on a journey to explore Samarkand, Uzbekistan’s second-largest city. Are you ready to step into history?
Our adventure begins at the breathtaking Guri Emir Mausoleum, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. This stunning complex is one of Samarkand’s most iconic landmarks, home to the tomb of the legendary conqueror Tamerlane, also known as Timur.
As we unravel the story of this powerful and controversial figure, we’ll make our way to the magnificent Registan Square, the heart of the city’s history. Did you know Samarkand has a legacy spanning over 2,700 years? Here, you'll be mesmerized by the three grand madrasas—Ulughbek, Sherdor, and Tilla Kori—each boasting intricate mosaics and rich history.
Next, we’ll visit the Shahi Zindah necropolis, an awe-inspiring site adorned with brilliant blue-domed mausoleums, ancient mosques, and towering archways. This UNESCO-listed complex is a photographer’s dream, so have your camera ready!
Just a short stroll away stands the Bibi Khanum Mosque, once the largest mosque in Central Asia. As we admire its impressive 14th-century architecture, you’ll gain insight into Samarkand’s former splendor as a major hub of the Silk Road.
To end our tour on a vibrant note, we’ll explore the Siyab Bazaar, where you’ll have free time to wander through colorful stalls and pick up some unique souvenirs. We’ll then head back to your hotel, with arrival expected after a total of 8 hours.
