Kyzylkum Desert 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Samarkand - Nurota - Kyzylkum
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Samarkand at the indicated time before boarding the minibus to go to the Kyzylkum desert. During a four-hour journey, we'll tell you all about the main characteristics of this desert whose name in Uzbek means "red sand".
The first stop is at Nurota, here we'll visit the famous Chashma complex, an ancient ruined fortress dating back to the 4th century BC. This is one of the most important archaeological sites in Uzbekistan! We then continue the tour of Nurota at the Juma Mosque, the ancient Panjvaqta Mosque, and the city's Arabian baths. We'll also enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in Nurota.
In the late afternoon, we'll arrive at the Kyzylkym desert yurt camp where we'll spend the night. You'll have the rest of the afternoon free to swim in the Aidar Lake. Then, in the evening, you'll have a delicious traditional dinner, attend a fabulous folk show, and find out all about the desert way of life.
Day 2: Kyzylkum - Bukhara - Samarkand
Enjoy the unforgettable experience of waking up in the desert. We'll enjoy breakfast at the yurt camp while watching the first light of day bathe the sands of Kyzylkum in a warm red glow.
Afterward, we'll return to Samarkand with a stop in Bukhara, where you can have lunch on your own. In your reservation, you can tell us whether you prefer to end the private tour in Bukhara or in Samarkand. If you choose the latter alternative, we'll take you back to your hotel in Samarkand, where arrival is scheduled for 5 pm.
