Tour Details

At the indicated time, we'll meet at 3 Rainerstraße. From there, we'll head to Kurgurten, a garden next to Mirabell Palace, a baroque building built in the 17th century. Let's start this journey into the past!

We'll enter the ornate gardens, where we'll discover mythological statues and the sets of the 60's musical film The Sound of Music. We'll then walk along the Salzach River until we reach the heart of the old town. On the way, we'll pass Mozart's residence, where the composer lived for several years during his adult life.

A few steps away, on Getreidegasse, you'll find Mozart's birthplace, now a museum. Here, we'll be surrounded by elegant facades and iron signs, reminiscent of historic Salzburg. Our guided tour will now take us to Kollegienkirche, a baroque jewel designed by the architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Did you know that it has been the stage for operas since the 1970s?

Next, we'll arrive at the Residenzplatz, from where we'll admire the Residenzbrunnen and the Salzburg Cathedral, where Wolfang Amadeus Mozat was baptised. This church, rebuilt in the 17th century, is one of the most emblematic buildings in the city.

While we talk about the history of this square, we'll pass by the Mariensäule fountain as we make our way to the Domplatz and the sphere on Kapitelplatz. At Kapitelplatz, you'll see the large sphere in vivid gold tones that adds a contemporary touch to the city's historic setting.

Also at Kapitelplatz, you'll see the Kapitelschwemme, where the horses used to drink water and rest. From there, we'll get a panoramic view of the Hohensalzburg Fortress, which has guarded the city since 1077—one of the oldest fortresses in Central Europe!

Finally, after a 2-hour guided tour, we'll say goodbye at this last point.
