Bahia Culture Tour
After picking you up between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, we'll begin a tour of this beautiful Brazilian city that will immerse us in Bahian culture.
First, we'll go to the Casa do Rio Vermelho, the house where the writer Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai lived. The writer maintained an intense friendship with the painter Carybé and the photographer Pierre Verger. In fact, the three were the main promoters of baianidade, a popular artistic movement.
We'll continue our tour of Salvador at the Santa Maria fort to visit the Verger space, dedicated to the work of this brilliant French-born photographer. During his life, he captured with his camera the customs and traditions of countries as diverse as Japan, Spain, Niger, and, of course, Brazil.
The next stop will be at the San Diego Fort, which houses the Carybé space. The work of this artist, who was born in Argentina and decided to adopt Brazilian nationality, ranges from ceramics and murals to sculptures and engravings. As we'll see, he was a very versatile person who, of course, also did a lot of painting.
From the Carybé space, we'll finally return to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, where we'll arrive at 6:30 pm.
