Quebrada del Toro Trip
Quebrada del Toro Trip
At 9:30 am, we will depart from the center of Salta and head northwest along the National Route 51, which runs past charming little villages like San Luis, Encón, and Campo Quijano.
In this last municipality is known as "the gateway to the Andes", our route changes onto a dirt track that runs parallel to the tracks of the famous Train to the Clouds. This iconic Argentinian railway is so-called because it winds its way up to a height of almost 14,000 ft high.
As we follow the zigzagging earthen track, we will encounter the magnificent Viaducto del Toro: a gigantic bridge that offers excellent views of the Quebrada del Toro. This spectacular gorge runs through different Andean canyons and the beautiful Lerma Valley.
We will walk along a section of the viaduct to get an even better vantage of the landscapes of the Quebrada del Toro. This Andean area is especially beautiful due to the different ochre, brown, and red tones of the mountains. If conditions are favorable, we may even see some of the exotic birds that inhabit these beautiful places.
From the Viaducto del Toro, we will return to the center of Salta, where we arrive at 2 pm.

The tour includes pick up from hotels in the center of Salta. If you are staying in other more remote locations, we will pick you up at the following meeting point in Salta: 45, Buenos Aires street.
