The wildest nature of Salta awaits us on this excursion to Los Cardones National Park. We'll also enjoy a hike near the breathtaking Puente del Diablo (Devil's Bridge).

Tour Highlights

After picking you up at your hotel in Salta at the indicated time, we'll set off westward. We'll first cross the Lerma Valley and the lush yungas forests in the Escoipe ravine. Then, we'll pass through El Maray and ascend the famous Cuesta del Obispo. Once we leave this zigzagging route behind us, we'll enter Los Cardones National Park, one of Salta's most spectacular protected areas.

In this natural environment, we'll stop at the Piedra del Molino, located at an altitude of 3450 meters. The route will then continue towards the Calchaquí valley. We'll arrive here by crossing the Recta del Tin-Tin, a road traced by the Incas that goes into the heart of the Cardones National Park.

Then, we'll go to the town of Payogasta to get on the iconic National Route 40. This road will take us to the so-called Devil's Bridge, a group of underground caves crossed by the Calchaquí River. Inside these caverns, we'll start hiking to discover the geological characteristics of the caves.

After this hike, for approximately one hour, we'll have a picnic lunch with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a slice of cake, and two bottles of mineral water. After lunch, we'll take a short tour of the area to visit the Rocas Negras Field next to the Gemelos volcanoes and the town of La Toma.

From this last town, we'll get great views of the Nevado de Acay. Finally, it'll be time to return to Salta. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled 12 hours after pickup.
