Lerma Valley Tobacco Tour
Description
At the indicated time we'll pick you up at your hotel in Salta and depart to the south of the city, where Lerma Valley is located. Did you know that it's one of the main tobacco producing areas in Argentina?
During the tour, we'll pass through the tobacco plantations that are found in the villages of Lerma Valley. The towns of Cerrillos, Rosario de Lerma, El Carril and Coronel Moldes are particularly noteworthy. You should also take advantage of the opportunity to take pictures of their stunning landscapes!
In these towns, we'll learn about the methods of tobacco production and its evolution throughout history. We'll also discover which varieties are the most outstanding in this part of Argentina. Afterwards, we'll continue our route through Lerma Valley towards the well-known Cabra Corral reservoir.
You'll then have an hour of free time for lunch on the banks of the reservoir. After lunch, we'll go to Finca Santa Anita, where we'll learn about its main agricultural and livestock activities. At this hacienda, we'll also visit an archaeological collection and the Tobacco Museum, the first of its kind in Argentina.
After visiting the museum we'll finally return to your hotel in Salta, where we'll arrive 8 hours after pickup.
