Salerno Guided Tour

At the time of your choice, we will meet up at the waterfront in Salerno to begin a fantastic guided tour through the historic center of Salerno.

We will start walking through the medieval streets towards the amazing San Pietro a Corte complex. Roman baths, Christian places of worship, and Norman palaces converge here, allowing us to discover the diversity of cultures that have passed through Salerno's history.

Afterward, one of the city's great architectural jewels awaits us: the cathedral of San Matteo, also known as the Duomo of Salerno. This magnificent sanctuary was built on the remains of a Roman temple. You will learn about this and many other fascinating facts as explore inside the basilica.

The tour will also take us to the grounds of the impressive Arechi Castle, located on the top of Mount Bonadies. We will talk about the important defensive role of this fortress whose origin dates back to the 7th century.

We then stroll along the main shopping streets, admiring the historic jewelers' and goldsmiths' shops. We will also take advantage of this final stretch to tell you about the importance of the old medical school of Salerno.

After a three-hour tour, we will end the guided tour back at the starting point.
