Paestum Temples Trip and Mozzarella Factory

At 8:00 am, we will meet up at the port of Salerno before driving south to the incredible archaeological site of Paestum, about 50 minutes away.

We will begin a guided tour of this beautiful World Heritage city that has become a symbol of Classical Antiquity. Thanks to the legacy of the Greeks and Romans we will enjoy a brilliant journey through time.

During the tour, we will discover perfectly preserved Doric style temples, including the oldest, the shrine to Hera, which dates all the way back to the 6th century B.C.! We will also have access to the National Museum of Paestum to learn more about the past of this site.

After this historical immersion, we will return to the vehicle and begin to cross the plain of the Piana del Sele. This beautiful wilderness is well known for the numerous buffalo breeding farms where milk is extracted to produce the region's most famous product: Mozzarella!

We will stop at one of the factories to see how the buffalos are cared for and discover the whole process involved in making this cheese. You will also enjoy a tasting of the delicious product.

After, we will return to the car and drive back to Salerno where we arrive at 4:00 pm.
