Cocora Valley Hiking Tour
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Our Lady of Carmen Church and from there, we'll make our way towards the Cocora Valley where we'll begin this hiking route.
Once there, we'll begin walking along the trails of this spectacular area. We'll pass through the trout farm, a famous local trout farm, while admiring the beatuy of the landscape and its imposing wax palms.
We'll cross the forest of Los Nevados National Park until we reach the Acaime Reserve, where we will see 5 hanging bridges that cross a stream and we'll witness the diversity and beauty of Colombian fauna and flora.
At a point in the surrounding area, we'll make a brief stop to enjoy a delicious hot chocolate or a typical drink of agunapanela with a piece of cheese. We'll use this short break to tell you all about the history of this stunning spot.
Afterwards, we'll continue the hike in search of the emerald toucan, a resident bird of the Cocora Valley. In addition, we'll be able to observe more than 7 species of hummingbirds that roam freely in this rainforest.
We'll refuel in another sector of the reserve with a delicious lunch that includes a typical mountaineer cold meat or a sandwich with chicken and cheese, jam and peanut butter, ham and cheese or a vegan sandwich. After lunch, we'll start our descent down the mountain.
Finally, we'll say our goodbyes back at the starting point after 8 hours together.
