Maison de la Lavande Visit
At your chosen time, we'll meet at the entrance to the Maison de la Lavande. Our visit will begin with a pleasant tourist train ride through the lavender fields surrounding the museum. Passing through these vast purple fields will be quite a unique experience, especially with the soft fragrance of the lavender floating in the air.
We'll then go inside the Maison de la Lavande to smell the different scents at the aroma table. Here, we'll discover the secrets behind three types of lavender: fine, aspic and lavandin. Do you know what the main differences are? We'll find out!
During the visit we'll also attend a distillation of the lavender essential oil, which will be carried out using a traditional extraction process. We'll then continue our tour with some interesting facts related to the history of lavender.
In addition, we'll learn about the origins of lavender in Saint-Remèze, the picturesque French Ardéchois village in which the Maison de la Lavande is located.
After our 1 hour tour, you'll be able to enjoy a refreshment at the museum bar in your own time. We highly recommend the lavender ice cream, which is a real treat!
