On this day trip to the island of Barbuda, we'll take a ferry from Saint John, Antigua, and explore the lushest island in this Caribbean archipelago. You'll be blown away by the breathtaking landscapes, paradise islands, and unique culture.
Day Trip to the Island of Barbuda
Between 5:45 am and 8 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Saint John, and from there we'll head over to the port and board the ferry to Barbuda, the lushest island in Antigua and Barbuda. This Caribbean country in the Antilles is known for its paradise beaches and untouched nature.
The boat ride will take an hour and a half, and then we'll arrive at the Pink Sand Beach pier, a spectacular beach located on the south coast of the island of Barbuda. You'll have the rest of the day free to explore the area at your own pace.
From the pier, it takes about an hour to walk to Codrington, the capital of Barbuda. From there, we'll begin a comprehensive tour to see the main attractions of this idyllic place.
First, we'll head to Codrington National Park, where we'll be able to see one of the most impressive frigatebird colonies in the world. We'll get a look at these birds that inhabit the sanctuary. These beautiful birds stand out for their striking colours! We'll also learn some interesting facts about them.
Then we'll come to the caves of Two-foot Bay, a perfect place to see the rock formations of the island of Barbuda. After a walk around the caves, we'll take you to the spectacular unspoilt Princess Diana Beach. Its fine white sand and crystal clear waters make this place a true paradise.
Have you worked up an appetite yet? We'll stop at a local restaurant where we'll enjoy a delicious traditional meal of a starter, main course and a drink.
With your appetite satisfied, you'll have free time to relax on Princess Diana Beach. Finally, return to the pier for the ferry back to Antigua. We'll finish the tour at your hotel at approximately 4 pm.
