Sabbioneta Private Tour

At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Piazza D'Armi, where we'll begin a private tour of Sabbioneta to explore its main monuments and most charming places.

First, we'll talk about the origins of Sabbioneta, declared a World Heritage City. Your guide will tell you why Vespasiano I Gonzaga decided to build a new city on this land, following the urban and architectural ideals of antiquity - Renaissance represented in its purest form! You'll also learn about the link between this duchy and Spain.

Following the layout of the walls, which became the most robust in the region of Lombardy, we'll come across several emblematic buildings like the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and the Imperial Gate.

During the tour, you'll also get to see the Palazzo del Giardino, the private residence of the Duke of Gonzaga. After admiring its detailed decorations and extensive collection of artwork, we'll walk through the Galleria degli Antichi and visit the interior of the Ducal Palace, the Church of Beata Vergine Incoronata and the Synagogue.

And of course, we won't leave before visiting the famous Teatro all'Antica of Sabbioneta which, throughout history, has also been used as a barracks and cinema. You'll be fascinated to see its huge sculptures representing the gods of Olympus, an absolute symbol of power.

After three hours of sightseeing, we'll end the tour back at the starting point.
