Northern Lights Tour
Northern Lights Tour
After being picked up from your hotel, you'll be taken far away from the bright city lights, heading deep into the snowy forests surrounding Rovaniemi. This wintery paradise is the ideal spot to watch one of the world's most incredible natural shows: the Northern Lights.
As you wait for the sky to tinge green, pink, or blue, you'll discover the reasons behind the phenomenon and the traditions that it has inspired amongst locals over time. You'll also hear about the superstitions that revolve around the mysterious lights, and how to distinguish the different types of aurora that can form in the night sky.
When the first colourful illuminations begin to appear against the darkness, you'll take a seat by a large frozen lake to appreciate the display in all its glory. Also known as the polar lights, the awe-inspiring natural light show can usually only be seen in the Arctic and Antarctic, making Rovaniemi a perfect place to enjoy the sight.
For the finishing touch on this unforgettable experience, you'll enjoy a warming Lappish snack, sampling local delicacies such as pork sausages, lap-bread, and blueberry tea with marshmallows. At the end of the evening, you'll be taken back to Rovaniemi and dropped off at your hotel.
